If you are a busy woman like me, there are a few essentials you need to make it work. Two loving dogs is a great start. But, what will really take you anywhere is a little black dress, a change of shoes and a good phone case.
My days are always packed with meetings for my job as a social media manager, blogging, organizing community events and walking my dogs.
It’s hard to find pieces that work for my lifestyle the whole day, I usually have to change a few times. But… with the perfect LBD, a change of shoes and accessories, I can go from dog walking and meetings to a cocktail party or dinner with friends.
Essentials Every Strong Woman Needs to Make it Work!
1. Little Black Dress
2. Change of Shoes
3. Swap out Purses
4. Good Phone Case
With all my running around I’m constantly dropping my phone (it’s hard to walk 2 dogs and periscope!) or shoving it in my purse next to keys which could scratch the screen. Body Guardz recently sent me a case and screen protector which is working wonderfully! Check out their Strong Women campaign to see how other strong women manage hectic schedules and still keep it together.
It’s always so hard to kiss the dogs goodbye before I head out for the night! Don’t you feel bad closing the door in their faces? I shouldn’t though, they get plenty of attention, exercise and treats throughout the day.
With the dogs safely tucked away at home, I’m ready to hit the town! I love how this statement necklace really changes the look of the dress. I’ve had these blue shoes for years and I just love the color of them! They also happen to perfectly coordinate with the necklace. My clutch, which perfectly fits my iPhone in it’s BodyGuardz case, is made from recycled can tabs. It’s from my eco fashion blogging days!
Did you know… I used to have an eco fashion blog and actually went to Eco Fashion Week in Vancouver one year!
Outfit details: Dress, Alexander Wang (similar). Leopard Shoes, Lauren Ralph Lauren from Marshall’s (similar). Cross Body Bag, similar. Blue Heels, Miu Miu (similar ones I really want!). Statement Necklace, TJ Maxx. Clutch, Escama Studio.

Thank you Abby! A statement necklace is a great way to dress up a basic LBD!
The dress is stunning! Both looks are reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn, but with a hint of edge.
That’s the greatest compliment, thank you!
