Number One Secret to Working from Home with Dogs

I’ve been working from home for the past 7 years, and over that time I’ve learned a few secrets to making it work. I get up early, get dressed like I’m going somewhere and head into my dedicated office space for “normal” business hours.

Working from bed in your PJs with Netflix on in the back just doesn’t lead to a productive day! No, you really have to have a specific place where you can get your head down without all the common distractions of being at home. All that aside, the number one secret to working from home with dogs is some good quality, long lasting treats! So you might want to read on through these tips if you have a furry friend and you’ve been reading into these Australian work at home jobs or others around the world that you could potentially start.

The Secret to Working from Home with Dogs: Long-lasting Chews

I take several breaks throughout the day to walk the dogs or just give them some loving. It’s good for them and also helps me keep the creative juices flowing.

But sometimes I just need a good hour to myself with no interruptions! That’s when I pull out a tough treat for Lucy like a bully stick, antler or Himalayan Yak Milk Bar.

I was so excited when BestBullySticks.com reached out to me to review a few of their treats. I asked for something soft for Lola since the old girl can’t chew like she used to, and something indestructible for Lucy! They sent me four options, so I decided to see what the girls would pick on their own. A: Duck Fillet B: Braided Gullet Stick C: Jumbo Odor Free Bully Stick or D: Smoked Shin Bone?

Looks like Lucy wanted to try A! Good choice because those are the Duck Fillet Treats they sent over for Lola. When I opened the bag I could tell they were going to be good. Inside the zip locked back, is another sealed bag, which means these stay nice and soft. Perfect for my 13 year old lab!

It was hard to get a good photo because Lucy kept jumping up to get closer! She scarfed her treat right down, while Lola took her time. I would say these were a big hit! I love that they are 100% natural and only contain 2 ingredients (no funky preservatives or chemicals!).

But the real winner, selfishly for me, is the Jumbo Odor Free Bully Stick. A lot of these types of treats have a pretty strong smell that usually requires them to be enjoyed outside, so I was excited to see BestBullySticks.com sent me this odor free version. Perfect for keeping Lucy entertained while I wrote this post and worked on my emails! For the record, this kept her busy chewing for a solid 45 minutes, then she was in a treat coma for a while after that. Makes for a very happy dog mom!
