Halloween has always been one of my favorite times of year. I love the costumes, the theatrics, the ability to stare at people without being rude ; ). As with any event, I started planning my beautiful half skeleton Halloween look over a month ago. I knew what party I would be going to, the Heaven Halloween bash at the Renaissance Pittsburgh hotel. There used to be a nightclub in the lobby and mezzanine of this hotel and it has a grand staircase, so I knew I could get away with a dressier look. I have a dress I made for a fashion show last year that is made out of a grey material covered in rips and I’ve been dying to wear it since I sent a model down the runway in it last year!
I headed to Pinterest, as usual, to find inspiration for my makeup. I discovered this gorgeous half skeleton from Nouvelle Daily (check their tutorial if you want to DIY this look).
Creating this look myself seemed like biting off a bit more than I could chew. The tutorial shows about 3 steps, but I spend way too much time at Sephora to believe that! I was lucky enough to book an appointment with one of the amazingly talented artists at my local Sephora store and she just ran with it! I think she did an even better job than the inspiration photo!
The whole look was a major hit at the party and I had a lot of fun recording a bunch of videos like this one. As you can see from the captions above, my look grabbed the attention of both local newspapers and I was featured in print on Monday!
Incredible!
Thanks Earl!
Wow, this is stunning! No wonder you were featured, what an amazing look!
Thank you! It was more fun planning this look and getting ready than at the actual party! Thats always the case for me!
