Over the years I’ve pinned thousands of images of dogs and fashion and I’ve ordered a bunch of books about fabulous women and their dogs, dreaming of recreating one of the iconic photos. People have always told me that I look like Audrey Hepburn (it’s a short hair thing!), so it seemed like a natural a move to try to recreate a glamorous photo of Audrey with dogs. It all came together when I was approached by One Enchanted Evening, a formal wear shop in the Pittsburgh area. Keep reading to see how I became a dog loving Audrey Hepburn for the day thanks to a partnership with OEE!
It all started with this photo. It was a test shoot for the movie Sabrina and features one of the most iconic Givenchy gowns created for Hepburn (second only to the black gown in Breakfast at Tiffany’s). I sent the photo to One Enchanted Evening, and they thought it was a great one to try and recreate. At the store I found a few beautiful options, but when the girls brought out this Allure Bridal gown with black embroidery, I knew we had found it!
This photoshoot was a group effort! I enlisted the help of my talented friend John Colombo to photograph it. I knew that he would know just how to nail the lighting! And thanks to a folding door I found at a used building materials store for $5, we had the set figured out.
Another important detail to getting an Audrey Hepburn look right is the makeup. My friend Laura Francioni is a senior artist at Sephora and creates amazing artwork on my face several times per year. It’s good to know people who love this stuff as much as I do! I think one of the most important details in Audrey’s look is her eyebrows. Laura did an amazing job getting them just right on me! Below is a look at the makeup in full color so you can see just how beautiful it was. I felt like a movie star!
Recreating vintage photos is all in the details. I had the dress, the makeup, the dog, and the props. To top it all off, my friend Leslie loaned me the gorgeous white leather gloves embellished with rhinestones. They were a perfect length to recreate the original Audrey Hepburn Photo.

Girlllll this is my favorite post to date! This is stunning imagery and you are classic + stunning yourself. This is one of those “frame in your house” shoots. Audrey would be proud.
Thank you so much Jessa! I love how they turned out and I’m so excited about the response I’m getting from everyone. It’s so awesome to be able to do something creative like this.
Simply Amazing!
