Choosing The Best Food For My Dog: Freeze-Dried Raw

Every pet parent wants to give their dog the best life possible. While we love to travel, play and spend lots of time together, I know that the best life for my dog starts with the best nutrition.

When we added our rescue lab Burt to our lives I was excited to see what a difference Stella & Chewy’s would make for him. Lucy has been fortunate to eat high-quality food her entire life, so sometimes it’s hard to notice a difference when I switch her from one to another.

But with Burt, I don’t really know what he was eating in the shelter for the year he spent there. No matter what it was, switching him over to Stella & Chewy’s Raw Blend Kibble with freeze-dried raw mix-ins was a major step up! Read on to learn more about why it’s the best food for us.

Benefits of Freeze-Dried Raw Food For Dogs

“Dogs crave raw meat, much like they once ate in the wild.” I’m sure you’ve heard this sentiment many times! I know that a raw diet has so many health benefits for dogs and I’m always amazed at the people who concoct raw meals for their pups. Some of their dinner bowls look like modern culinary art!

Raw nutrition helps support digestion, healthy skin, teeth and gums, vitality and general wellbeing. When I hear pet parents talking about a raw diet it usually involves a wide variety of raw meat, fruits, veggies and complex supplements. To be honest, it’s all a little overwhelming to me.

For my lifestyle big bowls of raw food just wouldn’t work. I really like the convenience of kibble because I know that it’s a complete meal with all the nutrients, vitamins, proteins and more that my dogs need to live their best lives. I don’t have to do any complicated planning, I just scoop it out and know that it contains everything Lucy and Burt need.

Let’s be honest, I can barely grocery shop for myself! Which is why this Raw Blend kibble is so great – it combines the best of both worlds in one complete package. There’s raw coated kibble mixed in with freeze-dried raw meat – I think of it like Lucky Charms for dogs!

Remember, the best food for your dog is what works for your lifestyle. Consistency is key to a healthy life! So you want to choose a dog food that gives you the highest quality nutrition at a price you can afford and that you have time to prepare. That’s why Raw Blend kibble is the best choice for us!

Is Freeze-Dried Raw the Best Food For My New Dog?

If you’re getting a new dog, either a new rescue or a puppy, I recommend you put them on a really good food right from the start. It’s going to make everything about your life together better! Your dog will have more energy to go on adventures, their poops will be smaller and tidier (yes, truly!) and they can live longer happier lives.

My dogs are jumping up and down excited for every meal. Lucy likes to leave a big pool of drool on the floor while I get everything ready. They truly love this food. And I love that I can feel good about what it’s doing for them.

As for a noticeable difference? Burt’s coat and muscle definition is so different from the day I brought him home! His coat is fluffier and shinier. When I adopted him he also had some light patches of fur.

Since eating Stella & Chewy’s Freeze-Dried Raw Blend Kibble for 5 months he has a gorgeous coat! This diet, combined with exercise, training and play has made him stronger and healthier than he was 5 months ago.
