Every year Christmas sneaks up on me. Can you believe that it’s pretty much next weekend! Thankfully I’ve already decorated my whole house and have quite a dent in my gift list.  I still need to find time to buy or make a few more gifts, bake cookies and complete a few more DIYs with Lucy in mind! Including one I’m doing LIVE online this Sunday! I thought it would be fun to show you a Christmas house tour with a stylish dog mom (that would be me!). I’ve never done a house tour like this before, but since I have so many dog inspired ornaments I thought it would be fun to show it off.

My christmas tree is set up out on my enclosed front porch. It’s totally protected from the elements there, but that room is fa-reezing fa-real! Since I can’t actually spend any time out there, it’s the perfect place to put my tree so I can admire it from inside and my neighbors can see if from the sidewalk. More on the tree further down!

First, check out my living room where I’ve decorated with lots of fresh greens, garland and the cutest sparkly house and Santa. Over the years I’ve acquired more things that fit into a vintagey sparkle color theme and this year I feel like the whole first floor is really cohesive. I love having pink, blue and yellow for my decorations rather than the traditional red and green. It’s just so me! I also make (most) all of it dog friendly by keeping it out of reach of Lucy!

Next, on to my dining room where I have another decorative fireplace. This room looks out over the front porch where my tree is, and I’ve also put a fresh garland up the staircase, so this room really feels festive!

This is a little Alessi Christmas manger scene. My dad got one for me and my sisters last year and I love how it fits right on this tray on my dining table. Plus, the colors and simplistic design fit my theme!

And here’s my tree! It’s so hard to photograph, but I think you get the general idea. And there’s Lucy posing like a little angel next to it. If you’re a dog mom like me, I recommend putting only plastic ornaments at tail height. You don’t want to loose any glass ornaments to an excited tail, and you also don’t want little shards of glass near your dog. So, keep them safe with the unbreakables towards the bottom!

Scroll down to see some of the dog themed ornaments I have. Every year I order an ornament from our photo with Santa, so there are quite a few of those! I also have 2 glass chocolate labs, and of course, a squirrel! Strategically hidden way up high away from Lucy!

Lastly, I have a beautiful wreath on my front door that combines whimsy, natural and a few glam touches. I absolutely love how the cardinal is perched on a branch in the middle. My front door wreath is one of the things I treat myself to at the beginning of December each year. The garden club near my house has a wreath decorating station set up with ribbon, branches, birds, bows and sparkles. You can have them make anything you want! I love having a new, one of kind creation each year.
