In this episode, I’m talking to Candi Wong of Designs by Wildside. She walks us through how she’s grown her dog collar business from an Etsy store to a full e-commerce website that’s now experimenting with wholesale. If you’re a small brand and considering going into wholesale, definitely stay tuned for Candi’s advice and bear with us as we try to explain profit margins!

From Handmade to Wholesale: Growing a Dog Collar Brand with Designs by Wildside

Candi Wong is the founder of Designs by Wildside. She established her brand in 2017 after having a difficult time finding cute prints for her own dog gear. She decided to start designing and learned how to sew on her own. Inspired by her three golden retrievers Jib, Milly and Winter, Designs by Wildside creates modern and durable everyday adventure dog wear.

Topics Discussed in this Episode:

  • Using Etsy to establish your product business
  • Making the transition to using your own ecommerce website
  • Converting Instagram followers to website visitors
  • Getting started with wholesaling
  • Calculating retailer versus wholesale pricing
