Podcast Episode 147: From Fashion to Pets: Finding Your Niche in the Pet Industry with Ann Greensberg

For this episode, I had so much fun talking about fashion, art, business, and most importantly, pets with Ann Greenberg of A Pet with Paws. She used her 20 years of experience in the fashion industry to pivot her own handbag line into a collection of stylish pet carriers and accessories.

What I love about Ann’s collection is that it doesn’t just look good – it’s eco-friendly and super functional for pet parents. Ann shares great advice on how to pivot in your career and why it’s so important to have enthusiasm about your product.

I hope this interview inspires you as much as it did for me!

Eco-Friendly and Stylish Products for Pet Parents

As a veteran of the fashion industry, Ann Greenberg’s multi-million dollar designs have appeared in magazines, catalogs and department stores nationwide. After working in that industry for 20 years, Ann realized that she had greater contributions to make to women’s lives.

She noticed that three things were shifting with women’s priorities. Heightened concerns about the environment; Demand for more fashionable & sustainable products, and an increased desire for spending on experiences and travel.

With that in mind, Ann determined that the pet travel industry had some serious holes to fill. So she launched A Pet with Paws to create sophisticated, sassy pet carriers for the chic urban on-the-go pet owner.

Topics Discussed in this Episode:

  • How a cat inspired Ann’s pet products
  • Ann’s materials and product production techniques
  • How she photo prints her designs to create Hermes-style pet carrier bags
  • How she dealt with the initial reactions to her products
  • How she inadvertently solved a consumer problem with the Pet Trek
