In this episode, I’m talking all about the best essential oils for dogs with Sara Grace Newhall, founder of Dog Love Oils. About four years ago, she created a blend of pure essential oils to help her dog, Sadie, overcome chronic hot spots – a skin condition that’s very itchy and can take a long time to heal. When the owner of a local pet supplies shop saw how Sadie’s condition improved, she asked to carry the products in her store.
Since then, Dog Love Oils has grown to include 10 different blends that can help our furry friends with everything from skin issues, to sore joints and digestion. These are safe for pets and pet parents to use together – I’ve been trying out the digest assist spray alongside Burt and Lucy!
In our conversion, you’ll learn what kinds of essential oils Sara Grace uses and how certain carrier oils can help spread them across your dog’s body. I was also interested to learn how topical application using a spray bottle can help something like digestion and joints because of how these oils penetrate the skin.

Love in a Bottle: Essential Oils for Dogs
Sara Grace Newhall is the Founder of Dog Love Essential Oils, which she started in San Francisco by chance in 2018. She had been treating numerous friends, family and yoga students with Essential Oils for over 10 years. Her treatments helped numerous ailments including rashes, insomnia, digestive issues, emotional regulation and more. When she came upon a formula to help her dog Sadie’s hot spots heal and disappear forever she was inspired to start her business.
Since then, Dog Love Essential Oils has relocated to France, and has developed 10 different solutions for treating and caring for one’s dog. All of the products are made to order. Sara Grace is also currently in the process of developing new products including shampoos, conditioners, balms and tinctures.
