In just the last six months, she’s built up that account, launched a website and sold branded goods to her followers who now tag her in posts on a regular basis. Asia Dabrowski is the proud dog mama behind her pup’s Instagram account @starskythegoldie. When she welcomed Starsky into her life, Asia had no idea the impact he would have on her future. What started off as a hobby account & a way to bring smiles to the world, has completely taken over & inspired so many other projects in her life. The Dog Momager was launched as a way to connect on a more personal level with other dog mamas. It’s a project that is built on Asia’s crazy dog mom foundation & has spilled into her desire to help and inspire other dog mamas, give back to charitable causes, educate & simply share her own personal experiences with her dog Starsky.
Tori: When you started growing Starsky’s account, did you have a growth hack?
Asia: In the beginning I spent a lot of time on Instagram. I connected with a lot of dog moms, even just asking for advice since Stasky is the first dog I’ve had on my own. Connecting with people in that way really built my community. I also got reposed by some big accounts in the beginning and that really helped. I never anticipated how much it would take off!
Tori: How did you come up with the idea for The Dog Momager?
Asia: I had the idea for The Dog Momager for months before I started it. It quickly became clear to me that doing something around dogs would be a passion for me. I spent a lot of time figuring out what I could do that would create value for others and also allow me to make a living. Starsky’s account really started as a hobby for me, but with The Dog Momager I can be in front of the camera and share my story and make it mine. When I finally launched it, it was really empowering! I really put myself out there, which can be uncomfortable. But I knew this would open doors for other things I want to pursue in life.
Tori: Tell me a little more about the direction you see The Dog Momager brand moving?
Asia: When I initially searched for “dog momager” online I didn’t see anyone else doing this. I knew it was something I’d want to buy and had a feeling other dog moms would too. Right now I have hats, tanks and t-shirts with my tag-line. Eventually I’d like to start manufacturing some products that I have ideas for!
I also really want to grow my YouTube channel. I share a lot of dog momager tips there and plan on doing a lot more videos this year.
Ultimately I want to create a dog momager movement that highlights and showcases other dog moms. I think a lot of people don’t realize how much work goes into running our dog’s accounts.
