Did you know that Pittsburgh is the hometown of Andy Warhol? The Andy Warhol Museum is located here and there are  pop art Warhol-inspired touches all over the city. One of my favorite things are the flower walls that started popping up a few years ago. You can find these Warhol flower walls bursting with color in unexpected places!  I was so excited when I learned about a company called Pop Your Pup because it would give me a chance to highlight the pop art influence in Pittsburgh!

This post is sponsored by Pop Your Pup. I am being compensated to share my experience with their brand, but I only share information I feel is relevant to my readers. Pop Your Pup is not responsible for the content of this article.

You can see from this photo at The Andy Warhol Museum below (found on TheKnot.com) that I was inspired to create a similar vibe  for these photos! I love the repeated elements in the background and the big portrait standing out. I was temped to leave our painting on the wall as public art for everyone to enjoy, but I wanted to hang it up at my house even more!

Lucy is very please with how everything turned out! As you can see, not only did Pop Your Pup make us a beautiful pop art gallery wrapped canvas, but I also got a crop top with Lucy’s pop-ified portrait on it! I love crop tops, and with Summer on the horizon I can’t wait to work this into my rotation. I paired it with white jeans and a denim jacket for a little coverage. But once it warms up, I know I’ll be wearing the tank with high waisted skirts and gladiator sandals.

The artwork and crop top are really great, but let me tell you a little more about the entire process! The Pop Your Pup website was really fun to play around on. I uploaded a photo of Lucy that showed most of her body, looking straight on to the camera, and with a simple background. Photos like that are going to turn out the best for this process. Pop Your Pup also has a guide on what photos will work.

Once I had the perfect photo uploaded, I got to play around with background patterns and colors. Obviously I have a thing for palm print and the color pink, so I was pumped that was an option! I got that background for both my large canvas and the tank top. However, I could have gotten totally different images and backgrounds if I wanted to! There are a lot of options, and honestly I don’t think you can go wrong. It’s all about your style and what’s going to make you happy!

After you upload your photo and pick the perfect background, Pop Your Pup artists get to work on your proof which will be emailed over in a day or two. Our turnaround time was super quick! I made one edit to each portrait (I wanted a highlight added to Lucy’s tongue to make it look wetter LOL). The artists turned it around really fast, I loved the edits and approved it! We had our artwork and crop top about a week to 10 days later.

We are so ready for a Wear Wag Repeat public art show! I can’t get over how great this artwork looks on the Warhol flower wall. It makes me want to paint a wall at my house like this! Or maybe I can add some flowers to my pink door. Too much? Is there such a thing?

Just so you know, this canvas is the Large size, and it is large and in charge! I absolutely love how it turned out, but a smaller size would probably be easier to hang at your house. Just something to think about.

Happy popping to all the pups out there!
