How happy are you to see Spring flowers popping up? I’m so excited that Winter is over and warm days are on the way. But this in-between time presents a fashion dilemma for stylish dog moms! It’s hard to walk the dog without kicking up some mud or getting caught in a Spring shower. I still like to look stylish on our daytime strolls to the coffee shop or bakery (I do dress for mud when we go on a real hike!), but it’s always hard to find a practical and stylish outfit when the weather is so unpredictable! To get my head in the game, I teamed up with fellow dog mom from Hugo’s Adventures for a Spring Showers Style Challenge!
Staying Stylish on a Rainy Day Dog Walk
I have a couple pairs of tall rain boots because they are just so practical. When I found this Givenchy pair a couple years ago on deep discount, I grabbed them immediately! I love how crisp they look with white jeans tucked in. This time of year when the weather is just so unpredictable I also like to layer a lot. On top I have a tank top, denim shirt, silk scarf and a rain coat.
I think army green goes with just about anything, so this Columbia jacket was another great find a few years ago. I spent way too much time searching for the perfect rain jacket that had a hood, was hip length and relatively flattering. All the searching was worth it, because I love this jacket and wear it all the time!
And of course Lucy needs her own rain jacket for a stylish Spring stroll! I found this one on Amazon and just can’t handle how cute she looks in it! The company has a bunch of different cute patterns. If you order, I recommend getting a size up because the one we have barely fits (but I make it work because it’s just too cute!).
Dog Mom Collaboration
I reached out to another dog mom across the pond to see how she dresses for this weather. When I discovered Hugo’s Adventures last month I immediately reached out to see if they’d be interested in collaborating together. Pug mom Lisa documents her dogs’ Hugo and Holly’s adventures at the park, the vets, trying out obedience training and generally having fun with beautiful photos. Since England and Pittsburgh are both known for rainy weather, I thought a Spring Showers style post would be perfect. Luckily, Lisa was up to the challenge! I love how she picked out a pretty floral top to get in the Spring mood, and the matching harnesses for Hugo and Holly are precious. And, I’m obsessed with those sneakers! Read her post.
I know it’s tough to keep motivated with style when the weather doesn’t cooperate, but it always lifts my spirits to walk around knowing that Lucy and I look really cute together! I also love a good excuse for a walk to check out everything that’s in bloom now! These cherry blossoms just started to bloom this week, and daffodils are popping up all over the place. It’s such a beautiful time of year if you don’t mind the grey skies. Do you put effort into your rainy day dog walking outfits? Tell me about your go-to look in the comments below!
