Even since starting this blog I have gotten into cooking things for the dogs. I think that makes Lola and Lucy pretty happy about this whole blogging thing and gives them a reason to pose for all those photos with me. It’s called bribery, people, and it works!
I made some meatball soup for my self recently and decided why not make some “mutt”balls for the girls while I’m at it. We got a flavor packet from Your Dog’s Diner in the last BarkBox, so all I had to pick up was some extra lean ground turkey.
I thought they turned out really well and were so easy to make! I wish they made little flavor packets like this for people meatballs. My only mistake was that I should have frozen half of them because I had to toss a few after a couple of days and I worried they had gone bad. I’m not going to list a recipe here, because it’s all on the packaging and honestly it’s so easy! When I poured the mix in with the meat and one egg I was really impressed at how fresh and wonderful the ingredients looked! Lots and lots of green and wonderful oats. I think these must be pretty healthy for the dogs, but they aren’t a meal replacement, FYI.
Linking up with Tasty Tuesday.
I spy hungry eyes! They must be delicious!
Flavor packet? Oooh I need to tell mom about those, these look great!
I didn’t know they made flavor packets for dogs, very cool! 🙂 Your meatballs turned out lovely, I can see why your dogs are happy you started blogging! XD
Yummmm..we love meatballs. I need to check into this product. Thanks! Bark More, Growl Less Barking from the Bayou!
This looks great! I have recently been thinking of supplementing Daisy’s kibbles a with some fresh food and love this! I bet your girls really enjoyed it!<3 xoxo, Elif
This would be a really yummy add on! We didn’t eat them fast enough, so I recommend freezing half of the batch.
