I can’t believe that my blog turns 3 this week! I’m celebrating with a stylish PAWty tonight May 19th 5:30-7pm at Juju, come one, come all! For this post I’m also looking back at how far I’ve come since day 1. It’s interesting to see any project grow, but since blogs are so personal their transitions and changes are so fun to watch! I thought it would be interesting to pull up my very first post on Wear Wag Repeat, which was a mission statement of sorts, to see how I’m doing on my original goal.
THEN: MAY 2013
“They say moving is one of the most stressful events in a person’s life. So, naturally, I thought that while I moved into a new apartment this month, it would be the perfect time to start a new fashion blog! Although I officially moved in last week, there is still a lot of organizing and decorating to do, which all makes for great blog inspiration! So, I think it might actually be a good strategy after all.
I’m creating this blog as a place to document my own street style and daily outfit inspiration, along with photos of me and my dogs. I spend most of my time with them (the benefit of working from home), and their photos always get just as many, if not more, likes that my outfit photos on my Instagram.
So, be prepared for cute outfits, and even cuter dogs. You’ll never find my dogs wearing their own outfits. I might ask them to model some of my accessories, but Lola and Lucy wouldn’t be caught in public wearing a doggy t-shirt or doggy shoes! No offense to my readers who like to dress up their dogs, but it’s just not our scene.
So, get ready to see what I wear and how they wag. We promise to repeat often!”
NOW: May 2016
My original idea of featuring outfit shots and my dogs is still here. It was interesting that I thought some home design posts would creep in, that’s now about half of my content! I still proudly work from home and get to spend a lot of time with the girls. But my statement about not putting them in clothes might have been too bold! Since I wrote that post three years ago, Lola has a fleece jacket and a wool sweater and both the girls have rain jackets. Lola even has booties to wear in the Winter when it’s below 30 degrees! Never say never!
We’re looking forward to growing Wear Wag Repeat into the next phase, I can’t wait to take you along on this journey with us!
