When the #ArcticBlast rolls through town, it’s time to hibernate and stay in your house for as long as you can. I get the perfect hibernation inspiration from my Chocolate Labs. They really know how to snuggle up and pretend it’s not -25 degrees outside! Yes, that is really what he wind chill temperature was here on Monday and Tuesday.
My girls are professional couch nappers. So, if you want to do things right, you need a comfy couch and a cozy blanket. I also recommend flannel pajamas if you’ve got them. I can’t really nap as much as Lola and Lucy, so I also need a good Netflix and HBO queue to keep me entertained. This week I watched seasons 1 and 2 of Girls and also saw a cute British romantic comedy on Netflix called I Give it a Year. I highly recommend all of it!
When you’re stuck indoors for several days, you might want pretend to do some exercises or at least some light stretching. Take Lucy’s lead and just take a nap instead.
If you’re doing this right, and all Chocolate Labs do, you need to make sure you have good snacks around the house. Popcorn is my favorite snack, but Lola and Lucy spent the Arctic Blast snacking on Jones Natural Chews sent to us by our dog blog friend Flea (thanks again for the goodies, they are a major hit!). Check out Flea’s blog and the Jones treats if you haven’t already. They are all natural and my dogs loved them! I found them to last pretty good and didn’t split into little shards like some dried treats tend to do.

ahhh they’re too cute. and love how they totally think that they’re lap dogs 🙂 my dogs were so mad about the cold weather earlier this week too.

Thank you so much Lisa!
Adorable! Nothing like good snacks, good company, and Netflix to get through cold weather! I highly recommend binge-watching the entire season 1 of Derek if you haven’t already.
Oooooow they’re so precious!! My couch-mates are usually cats. I have three and my boyfriend has two, so I always find myself somehow surrounded by felines! I love them so it’s not a problem for me. They are professional couch nappers too. And if there’s a heater around, so much the better! They also watch tv shows with me. If only they could all fit on my lap while I’m sitting and watching things they would be the happiest cats on Earth. They take turns anyway. Pets are not people, they’re better!
