Dog friendly hotels are hard to come by, and traveling with your dogs often makes search for a dog friendly hotel pointless! That’s why it’s so fabulous when hotels have a resident doggy to give you your fix. The Pittsburgh Fairmont has an adorable rescue named Edie that greets hotel guests and Downtown workers as she hangs out in the lobby and goes for walks around the neighborhood. Edie, who is named after Edie Sedgwick, is so loved in fact that her recent 4th birthday party was a major affair! Lola and I were lucky enough to score an invite, so we put on her best collar and leash and headed downtown to celebrate.
The hotel’s pastry chef made an amazing doggy birthday cake and pup-cakes for all the four legged guests. His cake was slightly more impressive than the one I made for Lola’s birthday last month. While I used a banana bread base, his was more of a carrot cake. Not that the dogs really have a preference!
Edie is not the only chic hotel dog worth visiting. There are many hotels with much loved furry employees, the Fairmonts seem to be particularly dog-friendly, and I also managed to find hotel with a resident Chocolate Lab! The next time you take a trip, try to book a dog friendly hotel even if you can’t take your own dog!
Maverick, is the Director of Pet Relations for the Hotel Palomar San Francisco—a title he takes very seriously! Rescued from a life of shelters and uncertainty, he now has a permanent home and unconditional love. Not to mention all the friends he’s made while on the job! He’s about 10 which means he’d be a perfect love connection for Lola!
Catie and Carly are stationed in the hotel lobby of The Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston, where they like to greet guests and take naps between walks. Our concierge maintains an appointment book where guests can schedule walks or runs with them.
Posh Parker is the Director of Pet Relations at Palomar San Diego. Also known as Poshi, Victoria, or Becks, this five-year-old Jack Russell claims to have a “passion for life, tennis balls, and all things pink.”
Oh I love this! Looks like a super cute and fun birthday party. I love pet friendly hotels and here in the Southern part of the US (not sure up North) the Drury Hotels are a pet friendly hotel I recommend to everyone. They are courteous and attentive and all of their hotels are pet friendly which is perfect when making unexpected detours or stop.
They’re cute dogs!
Don’t forget to pop by us again sometime!
Lots of Woofs from Earl an I at Earl’s World!
