Podcast Episode 121: Virtual R+ Dog Training with Smart Bitch

On this episode, I’m talking to Jio and Taylor, a team of dog trainers who have created the in-your-face Smart Bitch brand that embodies the fun and positive approach they bring to dog training. They continued to serve customers and their dogs during the pandemic by creating virtual R+ dog training packages that include group classes over Zoom, private consultations, and 1-on-1 DIY training.

These professional dog trainers say that virtual dog training classes has actually enabled them to address behavioral issues that would be harder to deal with in person! It’s been a helpful tool in growing their R+ dog training business.

Create a Bold Brand for your R+ Dog Training Business

Jiovany Alcaide & Taylor Barconey are the women behind Smart Bitch Modern Dog Training. It’s a female, minority-owned dog training company based in New Orleans, dedicated to educating dog owners on the best and most effective ways to train dogs, using all positive reinforcement methods, also known as R+ dog training.

These “Smart Bitches,” as they refer to themselves, are both CPDT-KA and Fear Free Certified Animal Trainers, and their services cover all facets of dog training; from basic obedience with puppies to severe aggression rehabilitation with adult dogs and rescues.

No matter the challenge, Jio and Taylor always offer their clients a unique, quality experience. If you’d like to experience their services yourself, they’ve recently expanded to offer new training services, so anyone can be a Smart Bitch!

Topics Discussed in this Episode:

  • Whether the personality or the brand comes first for your dog training business
  • Unexpected aspects of working with dogs when you’re a dog owner
  • Making R+ dog training accessible online
  • Goal setting and growing your business
