BarkBox Treats June 2013

When I did this earlier BarkBox post and told you all it was the June box, apparently I was mistaken. Because the legit June box arrived a couple weeks ago. As a fashion magazine addict, I guess I’m accustomed to monthly things coming out about 3 weeks before that month actually starts!

Anyhow, the actual June Bark Box did arrive and it was full of more fabulous things for Lola & Lucy.

I loved this photo! I’m always trying to capture good pics of Lucy in action, and this one is pretty good, although the treats are in focus, not her. As you can see, she couldn’t wait to try the Whole Life treats!

I gave Lucy a Calm K9 treat as soon as the box arrived because she was going crazy and I wanted to see how they worked. These puppies pack a punch! It’s all natural and and contains omega-3, Vitamin B and chamomile, but don’t let that fool you, these really had Lucy feeling dopey. I think they would be great for dogs who get a lot of anxiety, but I wouldn’t really recommend them for dogs who just have a lot of excitement and energy. I wasn’t that crazy about how they made Lucy act, but I could see how they could be a lifesaver for some.

Next up were the sweet potato chips by Puppy Cake. Both Lola & Lucy loved these. I already buy them dried sweet potato treats, but we’ve never had ones shaped like potato chips. It’s a cute idea! Watch out if you live in a humid environment like we do though, the chips got a little less crisp after leaving the package open for a few days.

We dove right into the Bowser Beer and made some cool treats by freezing the liquid in an ice cube tray. Read more about that in this post.

And last, but not least was this SERIOUS bone from Butcher’s Block Bones. What dog doesn’t love a big giant bone? Luckily I save one from a previous barkBox, so I was able to give both dogs a big bone at the same time.

Another great thing about the June BarkBox is that it came with some tips on keeping your dog safe and healthy in the Summer heat. Remember that you should NEVER leave your dog alone in a car in the Summer. Temps inside your car can be as much as 30 degrees warmer than it is outside.
