A clean home and a dog loving home sometimes seem like they can’t go together. As much as I try to “embrace the chaos,” there’s nothing better than a fresh and clean house. One of the areas that I clean several times per week are my floors. With a chocolate lab running around everywhere, the fur tumbleweeds tend to pile up! Not to mention the small pond of drool that Lucy creates on my kitchen floor while she waits for her dinner every night.

Reviewing BISSELL CrossWave Pet Pro
I’ve always thought that the only way to clean up those messes is to get down on my hands and knees and wipe them up. The drool even requires a little elbow grease! So when BISSELL asked me to test out and review a new tool that vacuums and washes at the same time I thought they were reading my mind!
Unlike other tools, BISSELL CrossWave Pet Pro is specifically designed for cleaning up after pets. You’ve probably seen Cathy Bissell and her dogs on TV commercials. She’s obviously a pet lover and she’s built a company full of talented people who get it – in fact, 72% of BISSELL employees have pets! Just read this description straight from their site and you’ll see just how accurately they are reading our minds:
“How much do you hate picking the dog food out of the slobbery water mess by the food bowl before you wipe up the water? We hear you – we don’t love it either. So we created CrossWave to clean both up… At. The. Same. Time. Game-changing.”
Now that you know that BISSELL is on the same page as us, let’s move on to my review of the CrossWAve Pet Pro. I put this device through a thorough test and it cleaned dirt off of my area rugs, drool off the kitchen floor, and muddy drips off my white sun porch flooring (see below for before and after proof).
It does the hands and knees style scrubbing for me thanks to a multi-surface pet brush roll. It’s a fuzzy roller with rubbery scrubbers built right in so it actually scrubs dirty off of the floor while being able to handle hair up to eight inches long. I was honestly impressed with how great it worked!
Pet Safe Floor Cleaning Ingredients
Before we get ahead of ourselves, one of the first things I want to know about any new cleaning product is what kind of chemicals I’m bringing into my home. Lucy is in contact with almost every surface, so I want to make sure I use products that are safe for her to be in contact with. I love that the cleaning formula for BISSELL CrossWave Pet Pro is safe for pets and kids when used as directed and it’s earth friendly. It’s free of heavy metals, phosphates or dyes and has biodegradable detergents.
As I clean, CrossWave sucks up dirt, dust and pet hair. So you might be thinking, “what am I going to do about the dirty water tank?” Well, BISSELL thought of that, too! They built a removable strainer into the dirty water tank that you just lift out at the end and it gathers all the hair and grime so you don’t have to figure out how to dump that mess out.
The CrossWave also comes with a rinse and clean out storage tray. When you’re done cleaning, follow the instructions to fill the tray with clean water and run the vacuum through a “rinse cycle”. Then remove the wet brush roll to air dry.
So, It’s basically ticking off all the boxes!
How The BISSELL Pet Foundation Helps Pets
And you know what seals the deal? Wow Tori that vacuum looks amazing to clean both rugs and floors. PS I’m in love with all the pink in your house too!
Thanks Hannah! Considering I never “wash” my rugs this has been quite the game changer! I swear it removed a puke stain from a year ago! lol
WOW that looks like a fantastic cleaner and will in the future look to replace my old Bissell that I have in the house so will keep this one in mind
It’s worth checking out! If you already have a BISSELL then you probably know they do such a great job of designing their pet products!
Where has this been all my life! I’ve been looking for something like this that won’t break the bank. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome!! Plus when you get this it’s like you’re also making a donation to the BISSELL Pet Foundation!
What a cool product! God, I would KILL for something like this in our home. I wash the floors and vacuum all.the.time and it’s still a constant battle! Thanks for sharing your experience!
Good on you! I don’t usually wash my floors all the time because it’s such a pain! But when I do I can see how DIRTY they are! Since I got the CrossWave I’ve been using it once every 10 days or so, which is WAY more than before, and I can actually feel how much cleaner the floors are and I feel like the house smells less doggy in general : )
Well you got my attention. I hate cleaning, which means I’m less likely to get down on my hands and knees to scrub anything. I feel like this could replace all the semi good cleaning equipment I have.
Yes!! This thing is so handy, it literally scrubs slimy slobber off my floor while I just stand there and hold the handle! ha
Our Doodles don’t shed, but boy are they messy eaters! I clean around their food station every day. They also track in plenty of desert grime onto our tile. Stepping on desert prickly twigs is not fun. I’m loving that the Cross Wave cleans tile.
Oh yes, even if you don’t have dog hair tumbleweeds there’s still a mess. Somehow the dogs haven’t figured out how to get all the water in their mouth! The CrossWave would be great because it will pick up solid things and watery things at once.
Oh my goodness, I want one of these so bad. I loved it when I saw it on your insta story! (im @amospearce mum!) great post and it makes cleaning look easy! its my least fav!
Thanks for clicking through to see the whole post! Love following your journey on IG!
Thanks for the great information on this machine. I will need to invest in getting one for cleaning my floors.
Definitely check it out! I’ve been using it often and loving it!
It really is such a great cleaning machine! Love mine so much!
It’s so handy! I have been cleaning so much more since I got it because it’s just so easy.
I’ve had mine for a few months now, and I absolutely Love it!! I have Six dogs, 4 of them are German Shepherds, so the hair is abundant in my home. I can vacuum and mop in about 10 minutes, while they are in the yard, and DONE!! I’ve always hated mopping, so this thing is now my best friend!!
I’m so happy you have this too! Isn’t it the best thing? I hate mopping too, but this doesn’t feel like regular mopping. And it actually cleans up drool from my kitchen floor.
How do you get the soap mixture off your floor? Do you then go over it with just plain water? Everything I read about soap residue is that it attracts even more dirt? Help, I want to love my crosswave but it leaves my floors sticky like a soap residue???
Hmmm… I’ve never had that problem! Are you using the cleaning product specifically for the crosswave? And are you mixing in the right amount of water? Sometimes I add in a little murphy oil soap because I love the smell of it and that can leave more suds than using just the crosswave solution, but it never leaves residue. Reach out to Bissell, they’re really nice!
