I’ve been on a mission for the past 6 months to make my dog walking outfits more stylish. Since I work from home and go for a few walks a day, I like to have outfits that I can wear the whole day including the dog walk. I had a lot of success over the winter (thanks to insulated jeans that are actually stylish), but now that Summer is upon us I realized I need to upgrade my warm weather wardrobe, too.

Stylish Summer Dog Walking Outfits

I think Summer clothes wear out faster since you’re sweating more, and then washing them more. When I pulled out the tank tops and shorts from last year I realized a lot of them has seen better days! A lot of them had dog drool from last summer still on them (oops).

So I did a little online shopping and found a few summer dog walking outfits that are practical and actually stylish. I’m going to pick up a bunch of these in desperate need of new shorts to go with my favorite dog walking t-shirts like this one, this one and this one.

Fashionable and Still Practical

I’ve always bought individual items and just worked them into my wardrobe. But lately, I’ve been trying to shop for “outfits” so that I know I have a really cute and coordinated look at all times. Of course, then those items can mix and match with other things. It’s a subtle shift, but it’s been helping me look more put together on a day to day basis.

With each of these outfits, I found a lot of options that can mix and match. I also added in some bralettes. I don’t really want to wear an uncomfortable underwire bra every day but I also don’t need a full on sports bra just to walk the dogs. So I’m stocking up on a few easy bralettes for this Summer. Have you tried the True & Co. brand yet? I’ve heard so many good things, I can’t wait to try this bra out.

Comfy and Cute Summer Dog Walking Outfits

I’ve also discovered that I need a fanny pack for dog walks. Seriously, I NEED it! It’s just so easy to load one up with my phone, keys, treats, poo bags, earbuds, etc. And it looks a lot better than having all my pockets jammed full of stuff. Thanks to my fanny pack habit I also have fewer crumbs in my pockets – and that makes me feel instantly more put together! For a longer day out, or an adventure to a new part of town, I also love a little backpack so I can take a dog water bottle and a collapsible bowl.
